Background

Los Angeles Native
I’m one of those people who are considered a fairly rare breed. Raised in Los Angeles, I am a certified “native” of the Southland, complete with a diploma from Santa Monica High School, which I proudly received in 1976. I later received my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Humboldt State University in 1981.
Sports Enthusiast
I was active in sports throughout college where I was a runner, weight lifter, swimmer, and volleyball player. I also crewed for the varsity team for four years. To do this day, I’m still an avid runner—I’ve completed over 25 marathons (26.2 miles each) and over 40 ultramarathons (31-50 miles each).
Experienced Therapist
Following graduation, I worked as a respiratory therapist at UCLA Medical Center until 1988. That’s when I saw how many medical treatments were simply ineffective. But I also had a personal experience that ultimately led me to discover chiropractic.
Chiropractic Patient
For 10 years following a foot injury, a podiatrist injected me with cortisone, prescribed orthotics, anti-inflammatories, and other medical treatments. Nothing worked. It was a friend who recommended I see a chiropractor. Believe me, I was skeptical at first. But not for long. The chiropractor found an imbalance in my pelvis that caused the foot injury. It was a fixation along the spine that caused the pain and could have led to other health problems. Bottom line: Within a month of beginning chiropractic treatment, the pain was gone.
Chiropractic Doctor
The next thing you know, I was hooked! Based on my personal experience, and seeing how many medical treatments have failed others, I decided to choose a career as a Chiropractor. I enrolled in Cleveland Chiropractic College and graduated in 1991. I opened my own practice, Rainey Chiropractic, in 1993. With over fifteen years of experience, I appreciate every day I spend, helping other people feel better so they can also live rich, full, and pain free lives.
